All Trims on GMC 1500 Trucks in Coquitlam Explained

There’s more to a truck than just the name. There are numerous options, features, packages and trim levels that make each and every truck unique from each other. But what do the trim levels mean? We’ve broken down the GMC trim levels on trucks to make it a bit simpler and to show what features are included in each trim.

Sierra Base
The trim levels start off with the Sierra truck trim. It comes standard with the 4.3L EcoTec3 V6 engine with the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 and new 2.7L turbo inline-4 cylinder as options. Both the V6 and V8 engines are only available with a 6-speed automatic transmission but your choice of 2WD or 4WD. The 2.7L engine benefits from an 8-speed automatic transmission for improved fuel economy. It is available as a Double cab, Crew cab with short or standard bed length, and is the only trim available with the Regular cab configuration. However the Regular cab is not available with the 2.7L engine option.
Standard features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, bluetooth, LED headlights, backup camera, A/C, power windows and locks, tire pressure sensors, stability and traction control, and oil life monitor. Depending on engine and cab configuration, the GMC Sierra 1500 can tow from 6,600 lbs to 10,000 lbs.
Sierra SLE
The Sierra SLE trim builds upon the base Sierra trim by adding chrome grille and window surrounds, Traction Select System with Terrain mode on 4WD models, and 8” GMC infotainment system, leather wrapped steering wheel, and remote keyless entry.
In addition to the 5.3L V8 and 2.7L turbocharged 4-cylinder engines, the SLE trim is also available with the all-new 3.0L Duramax inline-6 cylinder turbo-diesel engine. This engine produces 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The SLE trim drops the 4.3L V6 engine.
Elevation
The GMC Sierra Elevation trim is one of the most popular trims among customers in Coquitlam as it is well equipped with most of the features that customers want but without breaking the bank. The Elevation trim is available with the 5.3L V8 as well as the new 2.7L turbocharged inline-4 engine that produces 310 hp and 348 lb-ft of torque and the new 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel. The V8 and inline-4 engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of features, the Elevation trim adds a monochromatic exterior with a body-coloured surround grille and high gloss black inserts, 20” black wheels, LED fog lamps, and keyless open & start.
Sierra SLT
The SLT trim builds upon the SLE trim by adding the industry first MultiPro tailgate with six different configurations, ProGrade Trailering System, integrated trailer brake controller, heated 10-way power leather-appointed front driver and passenger seats, heated steering wheel, and rear seatback storage.
The SLT trim comes standard with the 5.3L V8 engine which features Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) and is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission on 2WD models and a 10-speed automatic on 4WD models. Optional engines on the SLT trim include the 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel engine and the powerful 6.2L V8 engine that produces 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The SLT trim drops the 2.7L turbocharged inline-4 cylinder engine.
Sierra AT4
The AT4 trim is the off-road ready trim that is available on the GMC Sierra 1500. From the factory it comes equipped with a 2” suspension lift, Autotrac 2-speed transfer case, Rancho off-road shocks, skid plates, integrated dual exhausts, red recovery hooks, spray-on bedliner with AT4 logo, Traction Select System with Off-road mode, body colour surround grille with high gloss black mesh inserts, black leather-appointed seats with Kalahari accents, and heated & ventilated front seats with heated rear outboard rear seats on crew cab configurations. Needless to say, the AT4 is only available with a 4WD drivetrain. It has everything to take you into the wilderness near Coquitlam, BC.
Denali
For the ultimate in luxury from a pickup truck, the GMC Sierra 1500 Denali is the one to go for. It is only available with 4x4 and in crew cab configuration but you have a choice of a short bed or a standard length bed.
The Denali trim stands out from all others by adding a standard 2-speed Autotrac transfer case, continuous damping adaptive ride control, spray-on bedliner, perforated Forge leather-appointed seats and ash wood trim, heated & ventilated front seats with heated rear outboard rear seats, heated steering wheel, 8” driver information display, premium GMC infotainment with navigation, Bose premium audio, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert and safety alert seat.
All of the features on these trims are standard features. With each trim, different packages can be added or stand alone items to make each truck the perfect fit for you and your needs. Some of these packages include SLT Premium Package, Denali Ultimate Package, Performance Upgrade Package, X31 Off-road package, Driver Alert Package, etc. The features within each package avry from front and rear park assist to off-road suspension to wireless phone charging.
