Design
Each Traverse trim has its own distinct personality, defined by unique design elements and accents that deliver a bold, SUV-like presence. Front and rear lighting, including standard LED headlamps and taillamps, is paired with a true dual-exhaust system finished in bright chrome to enhance its confident exterior styling.
Inside, the redesigned instrument panel sits lower than the previous model, improving outward visibility and creating a more open, airy cabin feel for both drivers and passengers.
For those who crave adventure, the Traverse Z71 combines rugged styling with true off-road capability. It features skid plates, tow hooks, blackout exterior accents, and distinctive Z71 badging, making it ready for outdoor exploration.
The Traverse RS blends bold street style with everyday versatility. It includes RS badging, headlamps with walk-up and exit animation, and sequential turn signals. Inside, the RS features Jet Black leather-appointed seating with striking Red accents, delivering a sporty and refined interior atmosphere.
Engine
The 2.5L (LK0) turbocharged engine is a slightly smaller variant of the 2.7L I4 (L3B) gasoline engine used in the Silverado 1500 and Colorado, delivering strong and confident performance. Producing 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, it is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission engineered to provide an excellent balance of power and efficiency.
All-wheel drive is available across all trims, helping deliver confident traction in a variety of driving conditions. The engine’s strong torque output supports responsive acceleration, making it easier to pass and merge into fast-moving traffic with confidence.
This capable powertrain also helps maintain impressive trailering capability. When properly equipped, Traverse offers a maximum towing capacity of 2,268 kg (5,000 lb.).
To enhance comfort, standard Driveline Active Noise Cancellation works to block and absorb sound while reducing vibrations, helping keep the cabin quiet and leaving outside noise where it belongs.
Seating For 7 OR 8
When it comes to seating and cargo versatility, Traverse offers a wide range of flexible second- and third-row configurations to suit your needs. Seven-passenger seating comes standard, providing generous space for family and passengers.
Available seven-passenger configurations include second-row captain’s chairs with SmartSlide, making access to the third row easier—even when a child seat is installed. For added convenience, one-touch folding second-row seats and power-folding third-row seating are standard on RS.
For those who need extra passenger capacity, eight-passenger seating is available on LT, featuring second- and third-row bench seats. A spacious third-row 60/40 split bench gives you the flexibility to create more room whenever you need it.
Everyone on board can enjoy the available pillar-to-pillar power sunroof with a sunshade, allowing you to easily control brightness and enjoy an open, airy cabin experience.
Cargo
Traverse offers up to 2,764 L (97.6 cu. ft.) of maximum cargo space when the second- and third-row seats are folded virtually flat. Even with all seats in place, Traverse still provides up to 648 L (22.9 cu. ft.) of cargo space behind the third-row seats.
Convenience comes standard with power-folding third-row seating on RS. With the simple touch of buttons located in the rear cargo area, the third row can be folded up or down with ease.
Traverse also features an abundance of open storage spaces, including a pass-through console design that adds extra storage capability. These spaces are easily accessible while remaining neatly tucked away for a clean, organized appearance.
For added convenience, the Presence Base Liftgate includes a programmable, hands-free AutoSense tailgate that can open automatically when a recognized key fob is detected by sensors at the rear of the vehicle.
