PERFORMANCE
Choose between the 6.6L V8 gas engine or the available legendary Duramax® 6.6L V8 Turbo-Diesel. The 6.6L V8 Gas (L8T) delivers 401 hp @ 5200 rpm and 464 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4000 rpm. With state-of-the-art technologies such as Direct Injection, Variable Valve Timing, and a cast-iron engine block, it offers a balance of performance, capability, and unexpected refinement. The 6.6L V8 Turbo-Diesel (L5P) produces 470 hp @ 2800 rpm and 975 lb.-ft. of torque @ 1600 rpm. This engine features a GM segment-exclusive air induction system and a variable geometry turbocharger, with low-end torque enhanced by up to 25% for improved performance at low speeds, climbing grades, or when trailering.
Both HD powerplants are paired with a reliable 10-speed transmission. For customers using their trucks to power equipment on the job site, the factory-integrated engine-driven Power Take Off (PTO) is available on Silverado HD, eliminating the need for an aftermarket unit. This option is available on Work Truck, Custom, and LT trims.
DISPLAYS
The Silverado HD LT, LTZ, and High Country interiors are designed around a driver-oriented instrument panel featuring a bold 13.4-inch diagonal horizontal touchscreen. A 12.3-inch diagonal configurable driver information centre complements the infotainment display, while audio control knobs provide a perfect balance between physical and digital controls. WT and Custom models come with a 7-inch diagonal HD colour touchscreen and a 6-gauge instrument cluster with a 3.5-inch Driver Information Centre.
Other available features enhance visibility and convenience, including the Rear Camera Mirror with partial (DRC) or full video display (DRZ), a multicolour 15-inch diagonal Head-Up Display on ZR2, LTZ, and High Country, and up to 14 available camera views. One standout feature, Transparent Trailer, allows drivers to “see through” a compatible trailer. The exterior temperature display is integrated into the radio display for added convenience.
CONNECTIVITY
When paired with a data plan, Google built-in compatibility allows customers to connect nearly every aspect of their daily lives through Google Assistant, accessible via the Premium infotainment system touchscreen or voice commands. Drivers and passengers can access Google Maps, weather, personal contacts, music, and other media with a tap or a verbal request. Google Assistant even enables control of the radio, climate settings, and more, while additional features can integrate with the user’s smart home.
Standard Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto ensure seamless smartphone integration. With OnStar Basics, drivers benefit from up to 8 years of core services, including mobile app commands, in-vehicle voice assistance for select apps, real-time navigation with traffic updates, and Automatic Crash Response, helping you drive more confidently and connected.
TAILGATE FEATURES
The Silverado HD offers several tailgate options to suit different needs. The standard tailgate is a manual gate with no lift assist and can be locked manually with a key.
Available options include a Tailgate with Lift Assist, which adds lift assist while remaining manually lockable, Power Lock/Release, which adds automatic release and power locking via the key fob, and Power Up/Down, which offers lift assist, automatic release, and fully powered opening and closing. The Power Up/Down tailgate can be operated with the key fob, a button on the tailgate, or the instrument panel switch, and can also be closed manually a few inches before power assist takes over. This option also includes hitch-area lighting. Additionally, a six-position Multi-Flex tailgate is available on all HD models and now comes standard on the ZR2.
