ACTIVE GRILLE SHUTTERS

Shutters close at high speeds to help enhance aerodynamics. Shutters reopen at lower speeds or when needed to help cool the engine compartment.

AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

When traveling at speeds less than 80 km/h, the system can alert you if it detects that a front-end collision situation is imminent with a vehicle ahead you are following.It can also help reduce the collision’s severity by automatically applying hard, emergency braking if you have not already or by enhancing driver hard braking. The system may even help avoid the collision at very low speeds.

AUTO START/STOP ENGINE

Standard on the Equinox, this fuel-saving technology automatically shuts down the engine as you come to a stop under certain driving conditions, such as at a stoplight. The engine seamlessly restarts when you take your foot off the brake.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

Enhances regular Cruise Control to allow the vehicle to automatically follow a detected vehicle ahead at the driver-selected following gap while the driver steers, reducing the need for the driver to frequently brake and accelerate.

SWITCHABLE ALL-WHEEL-DRIVE

This system, standard on Premier and available on LS and LT, helps enhance traction and control on slippery or snow-covered roads. Conveniently, you can leave switchable AWD on year-round, since the rear wheels only engage when the system senses reduced traction. In FWD mode, the system disengages AWD components for greater fuel efficiency.

LANE CHANGE ALERT

Provides side-mirror alerts to help the driver avoid a moving vehicle detected in their side blind zone. Also helps detect a vehicle that is rapidly approaching their side blind zone during a lane-change maneuver.

PASSIVE ENTRY

The Keyless Access system allows for doors and the tailgate to be accessed without pressing the key fob transmitter button. The key fob must be within 1m (3 ft) of the tailgate or door being opened.

LED TAIL LAMPS

Equinox Premier features LED tail lamps that offer crisp, ultra-bright illumination. These tail lamps are also included on LT with the available Lights and Bright Package.

PARK ASSIST SENSORS

This feature is designed to alert the driver, when in Reverse, by sounding an audible alert and providing visual indication on the Rear Vision Camera display when it detects certain stationary objects in close proximity behind the vehicle. Standard on Premier, available on LT.

CAPLESS FUEL SYSTEM

An ingenious capless fuel system is something you’ll appreciate every time you fill up. Behind the fuel-filler door, a small spring-loaded door replaces the traditional screw-on gas cap.

LIFTGATE

If you’ve got your hands full, the available hands-free liftgate opens with just the gentle kicking motion of your foot. What’s more, a programmable memory height can be set for easy reach or to accommodate areas with low ceilings. Available on LT and standard on Premier.

COMFORT

Heated front bucket seats are standard on all models. Available on Premier is the added luxury of ventilated driver and front passenger seats and a heated steering wheel. Tilt & telescoping steering column is standard.

TEEN DRIVER TECHNOLOGY

Lets parents manage certain vehicle settings to encourage safer driving habits by their teenager. This configurable feature lets you activate customizable vehicle settings associated with a key fob to help encourage better driving behavior. It can limit certain vehicle features, and automatically turns on certain safety systems if vehicle is equipped. An in-vehicle report card gives you information on driving habits and helps you to continue to coach your new driver.

Standard Driver Information Center (includes 3.5-in. monochromatic display with indicators for low fuel, oil life monitoring system, tire pressure monitoring system with Tire Fill Alert [excludes spare tire], digital speedometer, fuel consumption, fuel range, driving time, average speed, vehicle programmable features and message center)Available Driver Information Center (includes same as above with 4.2-in. multi-colour display).

SAFETY ALERT SEAT

This allows drivers to enable a vibration in the seat that will alert them to safety notifications for applicable equipped systems. Audible alerts or seat pulsing alerts may be selected.
