2022 GMC HUMMER EV
The 2022 GMC HUMMER EV is the first fully electric vehicle to GMC's lineup. Driven by next-generation EV Ultium battery technology, the GMC HUMMER EV has unprecedented off-road capability, extraordinary on-road performance and an immersive driving experience designed to put occupants at the center of every moment.
As the first of GM's next-generation EVs, the 2022 GMC HUMMER EV is powered by Ultium battery technology. The batteries are large-format, pouch-style cells, which can be stacked vertically or horizontally inside the battery pack. Two layers of vertical cells are used to create a battery pack of 24 modules enabling the GMC HUMMER EV an estimated 563+ km of range.
The Ultium battery pack allows for two-motor or three-motor layouts with the latter offering 1,000 hp and a GM estimated 0-60 mph time of approximately 3 seconds.
With the new Ultium batteries, the GMC HUMMER EV has an 800-Volt DC public fast charging capability of up to 350 kilowatts. The industry first technology mechanically switches the batteries from parallel to series mode during charging, which makes HUMMER EV compatible with the fastest 350 kW DC fast chargers, enabling 160 km of range in 10 minutes of charging.
The GMC HUMMER EV benefits from the industry first MultiPro tailgate with 6 distinct functions.

With a three-motor e4WD system and advanced selectable driving modes, the 2022 GMC HUMMER EV is the ultimate off-road EV supertruck. The HUMMER EV's off-road features include:
- 4-wheel steer that offers nimble maneuverability as well as a segment-exclusive CrabWalk mode which turns the rear wheels in the same direction as the front wheels (up to 10 degrees) at low speeds which allows for diagonal movement of the supertruck.
- Adaptive air suspension allows for automatic or driver controlled suspension height to suit a variety of conditions.
- Front e-locker & rear virtual locker for providing maximum traction for off-road and on-road driving conditions.
- Standard 18-inch wheels with 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires for exceptional strength & flexibility to optimize maneuverability.
- Underbody armor consisting of 5 skid plates and 2 underbody shields to protect the battery pack.
- Ultravision that includes new front & rear underbody cameras to help drivers navigate obstacles while off-roading. The HUMMER EV offers a best-in-class total of 18 available camera views.
In-vehicle technology is a fundamental element of the HUMMER EV’s immersive experience and is responsible for everything from tracking range and locating charging stations, to monitoring vehicle performance on and off the road.
Using Epic Games' Unreal Gaming Engine, the HUMMER EV's displays make features and selections easy to find and intuitive to navigate on the 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen & 12.3-inch driver information center display.
The cabin of the HUMMER EV consists of surface materials that contribute to the premium look and feel that GMC vehicles are known for. There is no conventional carpet, instead an easy to clean vinyl floor, topped with rubber flooring made from recycled material, is functional and installed with distinctive design elements.
AROUND THE HUMMER EV
From the moment you lay eyes on it, the HUMMER EV is instantly recognizable. From the upright windshield, the distinctive "H" motif seen in the headlights & tail lamps, and overall rugged stance. The front and rear lights also feature a charge indication and the front lights serve as the "face" of the HUMMER EV.
The industry-leading Infinity Roof is a signature element of the GMC HUMMER EV's expressive design. It offers and open-air driving experience via modular, transparent Sky Panels. Even the I-bar mounting frame for the panels is removable for a totally open experience above, while a power-drop rear window takes the open-air concept even further.
DRIVE MODE CONTROL
The HUMMER EV’s driving experience can be tailored by the driver for different conditions through Drive Mode Control. It includes four pre-configured modes: Normal, Tow/Haul, Off-Road and Terrain, along with the configurable My Mode — featuring a new Adrenaline Mode.
Each has specific chassis, suspension and propulsion characteristics, including the maximum torque delivered to the wheels; and along with the distinctive suspension and torque variables, the interior display screen graphics and colors, along with unique vehicle sounds, will be changeable with the different modes.
WATTS TO FREEDOM
With up to three electric motors and up to 1,000 hp, the HUMMER EV efficiently puts its power to the ground thanks to the Watts To Freedom Launch Control mode. This driver-selectable feature channels the propulsion system’s tremendous power into acceleration bursts — including GM-estimated 0-60 mph in approximately 3 seconds.
REGEN ON DEMAND, ONE-PEDAL DRIVING
These features are both driver-controlled braking systems which can convert the kinetic energy of the truck's forward momentum into electricity stored in the vehicle's battery packs to maximize the driving range. With the pull of a steering wheel paddle, Regen on Demand can slow the vehicle to a full stop without pressing the brake pedal. Similarly, One-Pedal Driving can slow the vehicle to a full stop using the accelerator pedal providing very fine control.
The 2022 GMC HUMMER EV is equipped with the latest version of Super Cruise, which includes a new automatic lane changing feature, where the system can determine when a lane change is optimal and initiate the maneuver. Super Cruise capability with three years of service comes standard on HUMMER EV and is available on more than 200,000 miles of compatible roads in the U.S. and Canada.
DC FAST CHARGING
The HUMMER EV has the ability to charge at the industry's fastest 350-kilowatt DC fast chargers. It has a unique ability to switch its battery pack from its native 400-Volt system to an 800-Volt charging system. This will allow it to charge nearly 160 km in just 10 minutes.
The HUMMER EV is available in three trims:
- EV2 with two-motors & estimated 400 km of range
- EV2x with two-motors & estimated 480 km of range
- EV3x with three-motors & estimated 560 km of range
With the Bluetooth and Ultra-Wideband-enabled Digital Key, owners will be able to use their smartphone as the key fob for their HUMMER EV. The technology detects the owner’s phone and its location in proximity to the vehicle, enabling a number of passive operations such as approach lighting, entry unlock and vehicle operation.
