As 2016 draws to an end, Christmas is just around the corner. If you’re looking for some fun activities to do with your family, here are some ideas leading up to that magical day.
Lights at Lafarge – Nov. 26 to Jan. 22
More than 100,000 twinkling lights will illuminate Lafarge Lake this holiday season in a magical outdoor display that’s sure to delight visitors of all ages. Coquitlam’s Lights at Lafarge Winter Lights Display is one of the largest free outdoor light events in the Lower Mainland, and this season’s spectacle will be even bigger and brighter than ever before.

Jingle Bells Night – Dec. 21 – 7:00pm to 8:00pm
Join us for our 3rd annual Jingle Bell Night at Lafarge Lake to sing carols and enjoy the light display together. This year’s caroling takes place at the Town Centre Park Plaza, located on the east side of the lake. Rain or shine. Dress appropriately for the weather! Parking is available throughout Town Centre Park off of Trevor Wingrove Way.

CP Holiday Train, Free Skate and Dinner – Dec. 17 – 4:30pm to 7:00pm
Start with a free skate and lasagna dinner 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the PoCo Rec. Complex. At 6:15 p.m., be at the West Coast Express Station, 2125 Kingsway Ave., as the Canadian Pacific Railway’s Holiday Train rolls into Port Coquitlam at the end of its cross-country journey, with performances by Dallas Smith and the Odds.

Clay With Mrs Clause – Dec. 17 – 6:00pm to 7:30pm
Come join Mrs. Claus and create beautiful clay ornaments to adorn your mantel or tree for the holidays. All projects will be fired and ready for pickup 1 week after the workshop. Register at: www.experienceit.ca or 604.927.PLAY (7529). Cost is $45.
