The 2022 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL are unlike any other full-size SUV. The Next Generation 2022 Yukon possesses the premium appointments, advanced technology and high level of capability expected from a modern GMC. All-new bold proportions and Yukon’s first independent rear suspension offer the ride sophistication and isolating characteristics typically associated with smaller vehicles, but scaled for the superior capability requirements of Yukon.

Its closest competitors are the Ford Expedition and recently redesigned Nissan Armada. In some key areas, the GMC Yukon is still the better full-size SUV but in other areas, the competition just edges the Yukon.

Against the Ford Expedition, the GMC Yukon has more engine options available including a Duramax diesel with excellent fuel economy. The Yukon also has more cargo capacity behind the 3rd, 2nd, and a1st row of seats. Unfortunately the Expedition has more towing capacity than the Yukon and it is equipped with more safety & driver aids as standard.

Compared to the Nissan Armada, the GMC Yukon, again, has more engine options with better fuel economy. Bust just like the Expedition, it cannot tow as much as the Armada. However, the GMC Yukon has more passenger space and cargo capacity than the Nissan Armada.
