Coquitlam Crunch ChallengeBlog Sep 8th, 2014
This past weekend, Eagle Ridge GM was proud to be a sponsor of the Coquitlam Crunch Challenge which raised money for the Coquitlam Foundation Community Diversity Fund. Participants challenged themselves to complete the Coquitlam Crunch in different categories. Some participants went up and down the Crunch as many times as they could in a 12 hour period (with the record being 17 times). Others completed the crunch recreationally with friends and family. A third category saw participants with mobility issues challenge themselves to complete a section of the crunch as well!
Eagle Ridge GM had the fun job of sitting at the top of the crunch to congratulate participants who reached the top and help them rehydrate and refuel. It was a great day and a wonderful opportunity to meet members of the community and promote the use of the Coquitlam Crunch and getting outside and being active. The funds raised help to fund projects promoting diversity in Coquitlam and surrounding areas. The goal is to promote a community that is diverse, compassionate and inclusive.
The event happens in September every year, and next year we hope to have even more participants. Challenge yourself to do the Coquitlam Crunch and make sure to come out next year to participate and get involved with your community. It is a lot of fun and a great feeling of accomplishment whether you make it to the top 1 time or 17!
