There’s more to a truck than just the name. There are numerous options, features, packages and trim levels that make each and every truck unique from each other. But what do the trim levels mean? We’ve broken down the Chevrolet trim levels on trucks to make it a bit simpler and to show what features are included in each trim.

Work Truck

The trim levels start off with the Work Truck trim. It comes standard with the 4.3L EcoTec3 V6 engine with the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 and new 2.7L turbo inline-4 cylinder as options. Both the V6 and V8 engines are only available with a 6-speed automatic transmission but your choice of 2WD or 4WD. The 2.7L engine benefits from an 8-speed automatic transmission for improved fuel economy. It is available as a Double cab, Crew cab with short or standard bed length, and is the only trim available with the Regular cab configuration.

Standard features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, bluetooth, backup camera, A/C, power windows and locks, tire pressure sensors, stability and traction control, and oil life monitor. Depending on engine and cab configuration, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 can tow from 6,600 lbs to 10,000 lbs.

Custom & Custom Trail Boss

The Custom trim builds upon the base Work Truck trim by adding body colour grille and front & rear bumpers, heated power adjustable exterior mirrors, cruise control, signature LED tail lamps, 20-inch bright silver alloy wheels, and remote keyless entry.

The Custom Trail Boss takes the Silverado Custom and turns it into a capable off-roader. This trim adds a 2-inch factory suspension lift, Z71 suspension package, hill descent control, Autotrac 2-speed transfer case, 18-inch black alloy wheels with Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires, automatic locking rear differential, and high gloss black front and rear bumpers.

The Chevrolet Silverado LT trim is one of the most popular trims among customers near Maple Ridge as it is well equipped with most of the features that customers want but without breaking the bank. The LT trim is available with the 5.3L V8 as well as the new 2.7L turbocharged inline-4 engine that produces 310 hp and 348 lb-ft of torque and the new 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel. The V8 and inline-4 engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

In terms of features, the LT trim adds a chrome grille center bar, bumpers and mirror caps, an 8-inch touchscreen, Built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi, LED headlamps, and 17-inch bright silver alloy wheels. Just like the Custom Trail Boss, the LT Trail Boss adds the same off-road equipment as well as a 10-speed automatic transmission with the 5.3L engine, dual exhaust system with polished tips, remote start with keyless open and start, and the option to have the 6.2L V8 engine equipped.

RST

The RST is the newest trim on the Silverado and builds upon the Custom trim with keyless open and start, LED headlights, tail lams, and cargo area lighting, 18-inch bright silver wheels, body colour grille center bar, bumpers, mirror caps, and door handles, and black Chevy bowtie emblems. It is very similar to the LT trim but removes all chrome pieces and has a more street-friendly look.

LTZ

The LTZ trim is the first of the two luxury Silverado trims. The exterior looks very similar to the LT trim with chrome bumpers and grille center bar along with standard 18-inch alloy wheels. On the inside it features heated front seats, heated steering wheel, perforated leather appointed seats with 10-way front seat power adjustments, HD backup camera, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, dual zone automatic climate controls, and SiriusXM satellite radio.

High Country

For the ultimate in luxury from a pickup truck, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country is the one to go for. It is only available with 4x4 and in crew cab configuration but you have a choice of a short bed or a standard length bed.

The High Country trim stands out from all others by adding a standard 2-speed Autotrac transfer case, a 10-speed automatic transmission with the 5.3L, 6.2L and 3.0L turbo-diesel engines, spray-on bedliner, perforated leather-appointed seats, heated & ventilated front seats with heated rear outboard rear seats, heated steering wheel, 8” driver information display, premium Chevrolet infotainment with navigation, Bose premium audio, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert and safety alert seat.

All of the features on these trims are standard features. With each trim, different packages can be added or stand alone items to make each truck the perfect fit for you and your needs. Some of these packages include the Technology Package, High Country Deluxe Package, Performance Upgrade Package, Z71 Off-road package, Safety Package, etc. The features within each package vary from front and rear park assist to off-road suspension to wireless phone charging. Whether you want a pickup truck with more safety features or a more capable off-roader or one that is loaded with tech, you can customize the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 to your specific needs.
