A 750 hp Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is in the Works

Ok, so it’s not an official vehicle from Chevrolet themselves but rather from New Jersey based tuning company Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE). SVE will be taking 50 new Chevrolet Colorado ZR2s and transforming them into mid-size pickup trucks that will have more power than the full-size Ram TRX.

All the “oomph” is going to come from a 5.3L V8 that will be stuffed under the hood of the Colorado ZR2. But it’s not going to be the run of the mill V8. It’s going to be supercharged. The total power output will be 750 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. Paired with the engine will be an 8-speed automatic transmission that will be reinforced to handle all the grunt.

Elsewhere the truck will utilize the excellent Multimatic DSSV Spool Valve suspension that is found on the regular Colorado ZR2 but the SVE Colorado will receive a 4-inch suspension lift. To stop the SVE ZR2, massive 6-piston calipers will be added to the front axle along with 13.6-inch ventilated rotors.

On the outside, the SVE Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 will have a lot of “Xtreme” badges to let others know that this is a unique pickup truck. In the bed, it will have a sports bar with LED flood lights and a full-size spare. Also, the SVE Colorado ZR2 will receive a new quad exhaust system and chunky off-road ready tires.

As noted earlier, only 50 examples will be made of this off-road pickup truck. However, SVE is no stranger to GM vehicles as they previously have turned a GMC Canyon into a spiritual successor to the old GMC Syclone.
