** Update! ** Here are the fully updated 2022 Chevrolet Silverado and 2022 GMC Sierra
Since the introduction of the next generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, many have criticized the trucks for having a relatively simple and bland interior design. General Motors has listened and announced that the 2022 Chevrolet & GMC trucks will have updated interiors. The upgrades will come as part of the trucks' mid-cycle update as the two trucks have been out since late 2018.
With the recent introduction of the all-new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe & GMC Yukon, the 2022 Silverado and Sierra 1500 trucks should have broadly the same interior design. The design of the truck interiors will probably not be exactly the same as their SUV counterparts but expect to see a lot of familiar knobs and buttons.
For example, the all-new Chevrolet Tahoe interior features the same steering wheel, driver instrument cluster, and climate & audio control knobs as the current Chevrolet Silverado 1500. But the 2021 Tahoe has a larger 10" touchscreen, gear selector buttons, and a different button layout to the left of the steering wheel.
The all-new 2020 GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty trucks will also receive interior updates but it will most likely be the following year to the 1500 trucks. Just like the Silverado and Sierra 1500, the Heavy Duty trucks have also received criticism for having the same "bland" interiors as their 1500 brothers. But because they heavy duty trucks have the same interior styling as the half-ton trucks, it should be a fairly simple change to an updated interior design.
Expect to see the the updated interiors of the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 in early to mid 2021.
