2022 Chevy Bolt EUV Earns Five Star Safety Rating

2022 Chevy Bolt Receives 5-Star Safety Rating

NHTSA Gives Chevy Bolt EUV Top Marks For Safety

The 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV has received a 5-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), making it one of the safest vehicles on the market.  With safety top of mind in buyers looking to purchase a new vehicle, it is especially gratifying in 2022 and 2023 if that vehicle happens to be an electric vehicle.  Fears of adopting new product technologies are real, but you can rest those fears in the case of Chevrolet's Bolt EUV.

The NHTSA's 5-star safety rating system is a comprehensive evaluation of a vehicle's crashworthiness and rollover resistance. To receive a 5-star rating, a vehicle must score well in a series of crash tests, including front and side impact tests, as well as a rollover test.

The Bolt has proven itself to be a standout performer in all of these categories, thanks in part to its strong and rigid structure. The vehicle's high-strength steel frame helps to absorb and distribute crash forces, while its advanced airbag system provides additional protection to passengers in the event of an accident.

In addition to its strong structure and advanced airbag system, the Bolt also features a number of other safety technologies that help to prevent accidents from occurring in the first place. These include a rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, and lane keep assist.

One of the standout features of the Bolt is its advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), which uses sensors and cameras to monitor the vehicle's surroundings and alert the driver to potential hazards. The ADAS can even take control of the vehicle in certain situations, such as when it detects an imminent collision, to help avoid or mitigate the impact of an accident.

The Chevy Bolt EUV earned five stars in almost every test, that included side pole, front, and side barrier collision simulations.  The 2022 and 2023 Chevy Bolt EUVs scored four stars on their rollover tests, earning a five star overall safety rating. That's the highest safety rating awarded by the NHTSA.

In addition to its 5-star safety rating from the NHTSA, the Bolt has also received top marks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The IIHS conducts its own set of crash tests and evaluates vehicles on a variety of criteria, including crashworthiness, occupant protection, and crash avoidance and mitigation. The Bolt has received the IIHS's highest rating of "Top Safety Pick+" in recognition of its excellent performance in these tests.

Overall, the 2022 Chevy Bolt is a safe and reliable vehicle that is well-equipped to protect its occupants in the event of an accident. Its 5-star safety rating from the NHTSA and top marks from the IIHS are testament to its impressive performance in a variety of safety tests, and its advanced driver assistance system helps to prevent accidents from occurring in the first place. Whether you're commuting to work or taking a road trip with your family, the Bolt is a vehicle you can trust to keep you and your passengers safe.
