The new GMC Next Generation 2019 Sierra 1500 is a perfect blend of power, safety, and luxury in an off-road pickup. It’s the perfect vehicle for a bumpy commute, an off-road excursion, or a jaunt into the downtown core of Vancouver.
The Sierra has all the standard four-wheel drive features and other additions including a light blade in the headlamps which help the exterior design giving it a distinct appearance. The new model has distinctive wheels, prominent badging, and perfectly sculpted accents on the grille insert. The vehicle comes with 22” aluminum wheels for an enhanced driving experience and is larger in size than the previous model in almost every conceivable dimension.
Here’s why the next generation 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 family is the ideal choice for the discerning truck owner.
Advanced Powertrains & Fuel Efficiency
The Sierra 1500 has an updated version of the V8 5.3L and 6.2L engines as well as a new inline- 3.0L turbo diesel engine.
For power and efficiency, the engine features a start/stop technology. The technology briefly stops the vehicle when in a traffic jam so as to conserve its consumption of fuel. It also has a Dynamic Fuel Management System which allows the engine to run on cylinder number of choice to offer efficiency or power that the driver demands. The Dynamic Fuel Management System is an upgrade of the Active Fuel Management System found in the Sierra’s predecessors.
The standard 5.3L V8 is paired with the 8-speed automatic transmission while a silky smooth 10-speed automatic transmission is linked to the 6.2L V8 and 3.0L diesel.
The Next Generation model features a new brake boost system that is electro-hydraulic powered as opposed to the conventional system that is vacuum assisted. The new braking system allows for a consistent and smooth brake pedal feel when trailering or when the bed is loaded. The brake system also has Duralife brake rotors that are larger than the previous model, as well as larger brake pads which allow for more support of the truck’s performance capability.
MultiPro Tailgate & Bed
A truck isn’t a truck without a tailgate and cargo bed – those two staples of the pickup experience dictate the driver is all about towing, hauling, and carting around their toys with confidence and ease; but traditional tailgates and truck beds are largely inaccessible to shorter people, and provide their own unique stack of challenges for working with the truck on a daily basis.
The team at GM took every conceivable idea that could contribute to a better, stronger, and more user-friendly pickup cargo bed and integrated their findings into the multi-faceted MultiPro tailgate. Available on the SLT and Denali models exclusively, the MultiPro tailgate features 6 different functions and configurations, Ready for this?
- Primary Gate
- Primary Gate Load Stop
- Inner Gate fold-out for easy bed access
- Full width step
- Inner Gate Load Stop
- Inner Gate Work Surface
The bed of the truck is also equipped with a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic box. The CarbonPro feature replaces steel inner panels with a carbon fiber composite material that GMS says is more resistant to scratches, dents, and corrosion that its predecessor – and it’s 62 pounds lighter than the old steel box.
AT4 Off-Road Package
The next generation Sierra has an innovative and complex Adaptive Ride Control suspension system, exclusive to the Sierra lineup of GM trucks. Its designed to offer the driver exceptional vehicle response and a driving refinement level of the highest quality. The system employs sophisticated sensors that monitor chassis response and road conditions in real time. These sensors enable active suspension damper adjustments to be made after every two milliseconds.
The New Denali Package
The high-end Sierra Denali is a professional pickup and should prove to be the envy of every truck driver on the road. The interior builds on the sophistication and refinement synonymous with GMs premium Denali sub brand. It has more leg room that offers a driver-centric and spacious seating position, finished with only the finest materials. The higher seating position gives the driver a confident view of the road. The ergonomics on the front emphasize intuitive and easy interaction with modern built-in technology including the Heads-Up Display and the new GM Trailering App. The premium leather seats, open-pore authentic wood trim, and aluminum decor enhance the interior’s refinement.
Other than the aesthetics, the storage and space of the Next Generation 2019 Sierra Denali has close to three inches of additional leg room at the rear seat in comparison to the current model.
Additionally, the new purposeful technologies that are part of the advancements of the Sierra work together to enhance its comfort as well as increase its functionality and convenience. These technologies include an advanced GMC infotainment system; surround vision that offers an aerial view of the truck for complex parking situations; innovative new safety features such as the Pedestrian Detection; Side Blind Zone Alert; and Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking.
