If you’re looking for a bit of sportiness from your Buick, General Motors has you covered. Back in April, Buick unveiled the new 2018 Buick Regal Sportback and TourX models and now the sporty GS trim follows in the footsteps of the previous generation.

Like the last GS, the new one will be the top trim level available on the Regal Sportback (no word yet if it will be available on the TourX body style). However unlike the last GS, the new 2018 Buick Regal GS specs have been bumped up to 310hp and 282 lb-ft of torque. A 3.6L V6 takes over the duties where the last 4-cylinder turbo left off and a new 9-speed automatic will send the power to all 4 wheels via General Motors’ new twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system.

To keep the Regal GS taught in the corners, dampers capable of 500 adjustments per second at each corner keep it going around the bends. Upgraded front Brembo brakes provide a boost to the braking package and 19” wheels with enhanced front and rear fascias complete the sporty look.

Inside the 2018 Buick Regal GS, sporty front bucket seats provide plenty of support both on long journeys and around twisty roads. The seats are also heated and ventilated and come standard with a massage function. A sporty flat bottom steering wheel and GS-specific pedals and door sill plates complete the unique features inside the regal GS.

Of course this being a modern Buick, it comes available with a host of safety features. These include forward collision alert with automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and a heads-up display to name a few.

No word yet on pricing for the Canadian market but in the United States expect the 2018 Buick Regal GS to cost around the $40,000 mark and it will arrive in showrooms in the winter.
