Coquitlam Express 2016/2017 Season Opener BBQ

Eagle Ridge GM is proud to sponsor the BCHL hockey team, the Coquitlam Express. With the season opener happening on Friday October 7, Eagle Ridge GM and the Coquitlam Express will be hosting a BBQ one hour prior to the start of the game at 6pm in front of the Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex in Coquitlam.

The Coquitlam Express entered the BCHL in 2001 under a local ownership group that includes Vancouver Canuck Alumni, Darcy Rota. After a few seasons, the team was temporarily moved to Burnaby while renovations were underway at the Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex in Coquitlam. During their time in Burnaby, the team won the 2005/2006 RBC Cup and became national Jr. “A” Champions.

The team returned to Coquitlam at the freshly renovated Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex in 2010 where 3 seasons later, they won the league championship. The team has also had quite a few players head to the NHL including David Jones (Colorado), Brandon Yip (Nashville), Milan Lucic (Boston), Mark Dekanich (Medvešcak of the KHL; formerly of Nashville) & Andrew Ladd (Winnipeg).
